Visual Capitalist | Visualizing 30 Years of Investor Sentiment
“Sometimes investor sentiment garners attention because it provides a glimpse at how investors might behave. In this way, sentiment would influence their investment behaviour, and in turn the wider stock market. To be sure, the link between sentiment and the stock market is not linear. In fact, many consider extreme sentiment readings as a contrarian indicator. If sentiment swings sharply in one direction, some investors may consider this a signal to do the reverse. This graphic shows 30 years of investor sentiment, based on data from the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII).”

Farnam Street | Simone de Beauvoir on The Ethics of Freedom
“Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986) wrote The Ethics of Ambiguity in 1948. In many ways, it can be read as a reaction to World War 2, an attempt to make sense of all that war entailed, and therefore teach us what it means to be human in the face of the worst atrocities we can imagine.”
Fast Company | How Beatles producer Giles Martin used AI to reunite the band for ‘Now and Then’
“Call it the Beatles’ third law: For every song that’s become an indelible part of the Western pop canon, there’s an equal and opposite “What if?” What if they’d mended the band’s fractured foundation in the ’60s? What if more of them had made it to old age? How many more songs could there have been? The new Beatles song, which features John Lennon’s vocals, was 50 years in the making—and possible only with AI.”
YouTube | Gary Clark Jr, Joe Walsh & Dave Grohl – While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Tribute to The Beatles, 2014)
As far as milestones go, 50 years is a significant one. The Grammy Salute to the Beatles, dubbed The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles, celebrated the band’s influence on music. The tribute was filmed on January 27, 2014, at the Los Angeles Convention Center and first broadcast on February 9, 2014, 50 years to the day the Beatles first appeared on Sullivan’s show. The standout moment for many was the evening’s performance of the George Harrison song “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” which featured Joe Walsh and Gary Clark Jr. on guitars and Dave Grohl on drums.
