Commentary from our Partners at Lazard: The U.S. and Iran Reach a Framework Agreement

Comprised of some of the world’s most experienced geopolitical minds and business experts, Lazard Geopolitical Advisory provides strategic insights and bespoke analyses to help clients navigate potential risks and opportunities and meet their unique goals.

In their latest report, Lazard Geopolitical Advisory analyses the new U.S.-Iran Memorandum of Understanding, concluding that while the agreement reduces near-term escalation risks and pauses the conflict, it leaves key issues, including nuclear constraints, sanctions relief, frozen assets, and regional tensions, unresolved. The report warns that markets may be overly optimistic about a swift recovery, as energy and shipping flows are likely to take months to normalise, making a fragile, simmering ceasefire the most likely outcome.
